Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where four Clans reside in constant competition, where loners and rogues struggle on the sidelines, where the strong are outmaneuvered by the weak and the brave make their own way through will alone. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

» appearance: Duskfang is nothing if not intimidating. She's rather large for a she-cat, and it's all ~~fluff~~ muscle. She's a very powerful looking cat with large paws and a strong build. Duskfang has long fur, which is various shades of silver. The fur along her back darkens considerably into a stripe that goes down to her tail. Her underbelly and chest are lighter-colored, almost white in appearance. Duskfang's green eyes are piercing; she seems to always be glowering at someone or something. She doesn't so much walk as she does stalk. Her head is always low, and her brow is typically furrowed in some semblance of a frown. Duskfang's very countenance is intimidating.

» personality: Once upon a time Duskfang was playful and curious about everything. Now, however, she is typically deathly serious. She has a short temper, and will even become violent if someone pushes her too far. Typically, however, she's just grumpy. Duskfang has a hard time trusting other cats that aren't her mother or Hazelstorm. It takes time and a great deal of patience for her to let someone in. The ones she does trust, however, will reap the benefits of her unending loyalty. Once Duskfang decides she likes you, she's your friend till the end. Underneath her sometimes frightening demeanor is a cat with a heart of gold. She is kind to those she trusts and extremely protective of them. Duskfang would rather die than see someone she cares about get hurt. She's extremely honest and pragmatic, often looking at things from an objective point of view. Cats who take the time to earn her trust will be surprised at how intelligent she is. Duskfang may just seem like 'the brawn', but underneath all that ~~fluff~~ muscle is a truly clever she-cat.

» background: Duskfang was born to Kestrelflower, an experienced queen and devoted mother. Not long after Dusk-kit and her sister Tawnykit were born, her mother also began to nurse another kit whose mother had died shortly after giving birth. The three of them were brought up as sisters, and Hazelkit, Dusk-kit, and Tawnykit were as close as three cats could be. They did everything together even after they became apprentices. All of them were well on their way to becoming warriors, and Duskpaw was content. But her world was shaken to the ground when Tawnypaw was hit by a monster on the Thunderpath while on patrol in the area. Her sister died instantly, and Duskpaw and Hazelpaw were devastated.

Duskpaw was never the same after her sister's death. Once she had been playful and inquisitive. After losing Tawnpaw, however, she became cynical and angry. The only cat she did not lash out at was Hazelpaw. The two became closer than ever. As time wore on Duskpaw became less furious at the world, but she was never the cheerful young she-cat she had been. Instead she was fierce and closed off, letting only a few people in. Because of this newfound viciousness, she was given the warrior name Duskfang. When the split in ShadowClan happened she immediately sided with Hazelstorm due to her fierce loyalty to her and her own lack of faith in StarClan. After the split Hazelstorm unsurprisingly appointed her as her deputy.
