Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where four Clans reside in constant competition, where loners and rogues struggle on the sidelines, where the strong are outmaneuvered by the weak and the brave make their own way through will alone. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

	THE MARSH - 1 Viewing Most of ShadowClan territory is marsh. Scattered here and there are few tall trees, and the muddy ground is covered with brambles and nettles along with shallow pools of water. 	BURNT SYCAMORE Located deep within ShadowClan's territory is an ancient tree destroyed by lightning many moons ago. Apprentices are often trained here to hunt at night and stalk noiselessly through the undergrowth, for this eerie place resides in one of the darkest, most foreboding parts of the entire swamp. 	CARRIONPLACE Located on the edge of the territory, far from any of the other Clans, is a large tract of land where Twolegs come to dump their leavings. Sometimes leftover bits of food can be scavenged from the enormous hills of refuse, but beware the rats who live here! Some of them carry a lethal disease, and must never be eaten. 	SMALL STREAM A very small stream begins at the most distant edge of the marsh and stretches directly to the ThunderClan border. It widens as it nears the end of its course, becoming shallower and more placid as it is spread over a larger area. The water is, at present, uncontaminated and a good place to hunt frogs. 	CHESTNUT TREE A huge chestnut tree located by the stream that leads to ThunderClan territory, this ancient tree has a thick canopy and large, twisted roots. Cats like to sun themselves here when the weather is pleasant, or if hunting is what they've a mind to do, squirrels can often be found foraging around the tree's base who pay far too little attention to their surroundings. 	THUNDERPATH TUNNEL - 1 Viewing The ability of ShadowClan cats to move freely across the deadly obstacle of the Thunderpath has enhanced their reputation for mysterious strength and invincibility. Board Information & Statistics

SHADOWCLAN TERRITORY

ShadowClan dwells in a swampy stretch of forest separated from the other three Clans by the thunderpath. Most of their territory is damp and shelters mainly lizards, frogs, and other cold-blooded prey. Because the uncontested lands surrounding them are barren of food, ShadowClan scavenges what they can from the nearby carrionplace when hunting is poor.
