SHADOWCLAN MEDICINE CAT AUDITION !

if you look to the leadership section on the sidebar, the pro-starclan high positions seem to be lacking. this is why we will be having auditions for the part of medicine cat!

now, in order to get a chance at becoming this position, the following criteria must be met. after the requirements, there will be a few "likes and wants." basically, these are little what-if ideas we might find really entertaining.

there is no current end-date for this; once there are enough adequate auditions, this is when the decision will be made.


SHADOWCLAN MEDICINE CAT MUST:

- BE ABOVE 35 MOONS AND BELOW 55 MOONS. the last medicine cat, paleberry, passed away fifteen moons ago, leaving the current medicine cat at a minimum age of twenty moons. on the other hand, the maximum at his death would be a forty moon old mca, a generous time frame for a medicine cat apprentice/assistant.

- BE PURE SHADOWCLAN. no half-clan medicine cats, please.

- BE PRO-STARCLAN. they are probably one of the most, if not the most, active cats trying to get starclan back. after all, they were in this position long enough to where they communicated with the ancestors at half-moon.

- BE WILLING TO DO PLOT POINTS AT A LATER DATE. details are currently not available to the public eye.

- HAVE PALEBERRY AS THEIR MENTOR. this is literally the only true static point.


THE WHAT-IF SCENARIOS:

- BE READY TO MENTOR AN APPRENTICE. if not already have an apprentice. the position of medicine cat apprentice is closed until after this one is over, where it might be opened up.

- WAS A WARRIOR BEFORE BECOMING THE MCA. even though it's highly unlikely, given the three other medicine cats were warriors apprentices before becoming the medicine cat's apprentice, it could be an interesting plot point.

- A CALICO. connecting all of the medicine cats by the colors white, ginger, and black. it's a possibility.

- A -THORN CAT. evening out the medicine cat suffixes of being -berry amd -thorn.

[/b] lightseer is a slender, long-bodied tom. he has amber eyes and short, sleek black fur. his tail stands tall above him when he is frightened, but otherwise it is curled neatly behind him so that it does not drag along behind him. his body is long enough that it hides any fat he might possibly gain. he is thin and slender, giving him the ability to move through small or cramped spaces. he’s a tall cat with thin, slender legs. he doesn’t have much jumping power, but his legs extend far enough for him to be able to fight an enemy from further away. his battle skills are surprising for a medicine cat, but that stems from rigorous nightly training as a young apprentice when he couldn’t sleep. he has muscles running all the way through his body, with the exception of his legs. lightseer’s fur is sleek and dark, perfect for sneaking around at night if necessary. his fur is surprisingly soft, but it lays close to his body. it keeps many burs and thorns from getting caught in his fur when he goes out to collect medicinal herbs. his eyes stand out brightly against his dark fur, their amber color catching every moonbeam imaginable and making sneaking around a little more difficult.

» personality: lightseer's interests include a passion for obscure literature and creative writing (about which he is very secretive). he is interested in the bestially strange and fictitious and dabbles in psychoanalysis. despite his mature exterior, lightseer can also be quite silly. he enjoys playing with small kits, having learned to do so after a close friend give birth at an early age. he also sings.
lightseer's personality can be described as one of stoic intelligence. there's no denying that he's one of the smartest, and he isn't reluctant to show it through inventive use of his extensive vocabulary. he can seem snarky and even hurtful at times due to his constant sarcastic tone, and is fairly reclusive, rarely initiating conversation unless it is important. he conceals his true feelings rather well, and even appears incredibly calm about the prospect of dying.
lightseer is private about his own belongings and doesn't like to share private things with anyone. cynicism comes easily to lightseer; he has difficulty admitting the sincerity of certain actions, even beyond the continual strife with his mother. after the death of his father, lightseer has been extremely upset with his elderly mother. she has become careless and apathetic, making any conversation difficult to carry.

» background: lightseer came from a family outside the clans. his mother was simply known as mother, his father was known as david, and his sister was known as roxy. they were loners, roaming the territories, looking for somewhere to settle down. lightseer, who was going to be named ross, was born just inside shadowclan territory. he was the only kit who survived. he and his family was found by a border patrol, who took a recently-born ross and his mother back to camp. david and roxy left to continue with their loner lifestyle. mother would have gone with them if not for ross, who was renamed lightkit. his mother was then renamed lostmemory, and the two of them stayed in shadowclan. lightkit was plagued by nightmares frequently, and was often up all night, too terrified to return to sleep. when it came time for his apprentice ceremony, he was given a warrior mentor, but his mother quickly objected. she had been driven into grief and depression knowing that her husband was off without her, and blamed it all on young lightkit. lostmemory claimed lightkit was unfit for a warrior, and demanded he be placed as the medicine cat apprentice. lightkit, now lightpaw, reluctantly learned the ways of a medicine cat. his mother grew ill when he was about eight moons old, and she was in the medicine den constantly. she would refuse to allow lightpaw near her, and made his life miserable. when lightpaw’s father limped into camp covered in blood during lightpaw’s twenty-ninth moon, lightpaw was the one who cared for him and awaited his recovery. sadly, he never recovered. he became paralyzed, and spent two moons in the medicine den. during the second moon, he stopped eating. david died just before the third moon of his stay in camp.[/ul]

Now, it’s not nice to note that Shadeleaf isn’t the typical she-cat, but what else can you really say about her? She’s not some lanky or lithe little thing. If anything, she’s somewhat large for a cat in more ways than one. Size never determined much, but Shadeleaf always comes across as quite portly in a way. Even in times of famine, this “big boned” she-cat retains a large quality. Hey, anybody that dares to say she’s just some fat medicine cat has another thing coming. Shadeleaf finds the flaws in her body don’t hinder work. If anything else, she has pretty aspects about her otherwise. For one, her eyes are a dark, golden yellow hue which gives her an intimidating look. Sharp, forward, and certainly not ones to easily forget. She also has a pretty obsidian nose that pairs well to her mostly dark face. Her fur is the most remarkable part being that she is mostly white. It’s the rest of that fur that makes a statement. This tortoiseshell girl has a heavy, black mask across her face with larger orange patches along her back. Even where dark fur lies, it’s always patched with random spots of crisp ginger. Once the pattern reaches her tail, it does a funny ring pattern from orange to black with a little white tip. Truly an odd patterned cat, but it seem that her pelt is one of her most attractive parts. Shadeleaf, in all, is an odd little bundle but she takes what she has. Mostly because looks matter so little.
