» personality: She is prickly and a bit hard to get along with, mostly because she is very suspicious of others. She tends to display little emotion or affection towards others, though when she does befriend someone, she sticks to them like glue. She enjoys fighting if not only for having something to do for her clan, as she is not too skilled at hunting. She is quite anxious and quick to accuse others of treason or harming the clan, though she feels apologetic afterwards. She feels a strong duty to protect her clan, and will try to do whatever she can to help it. On the rare lazy day she prefers to catch up on sleep, basking in whatever warm rays she can find. While on her own she is thoughtful and quiet, around others she is agitated, causing her to be more vocal or twitchy. When confronted she will become defensive whether she has done what she is being accused of or not. She finds joy in small things, like the scent of fresh fish or a pile of dried leaves, but rarely shares this with anyone. When fearful she is either quick to anger or shy and skittish, and she supposes these unpredictable behaviors just make others hate her.
» background: Icefang was born in RiverClan by her mother, Bramblewhisker, not knowing then that her and her sister's very birth was against the rules. Their father was a ShadowClan cat, Eaglefur, who had met their mother one gathering and had continued to meet her, much to the disapproval of his sister, Tansyleaf. When they had kits, they each chose to stay with their birth clans, knowing they would be able to still meet at gatherings once a moon. Half-clan kits belong to their birth clan, and so Icekit and Shrewkit remained in RiverClan. They faced bullying from the other kits and scorn from the warriors and apprentices, causing them to be more outcasts in their clan than anything. Shrewtail retaliated with anger, but Icefang withdrew, becoming more timid. Their lives continued as the normal for any half-clan cat, trying to get on the same level as their clanmates.
Little did she know that her treatment was probably better than she could have gotten in other Clans, considering the very leader of her clan was half-clan himself, born three moons before her. It truly was a prayer that she had no relatives in ThunderClan.
When she became six moons old, she was assigned Stormflight as her mentor. He trained her well, and they would often go out to the borders to patrol with others from her clan. Though others were still suspicious of her due to her half-clan status, the dark grey tom would defend her; "Let her prove herself," he would say, citrine eyes fierce as he surveyed their company. While her clanmates eventually grew to trust her more, Icefang remained nervous around them, hoping they wouldn't pin her every wrong on her being a half-clan. This, combined with her predisposition towards having an accusatory nature, made her loyalty to the Clan a bit one-sided from her view.
Having had no faith or belief in StarClan in the first place, Icefang wasn't very affected by their silence, only worried and angered for the rest of her clan. She continued to try and protect, though she does not know if she is succeeding. What she does know is that she cannot trust any other clan, should they hurt her own. She vows to herself that if she ever does have kits, they will be with a cat from her own clan. No cat deserves to be hated from birth for their parents' decisions. [/ul]
