Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where four Clans reside in constant competition, where loners and rogues struggle on the sidelines, where the strong are outmaneuvered by the weak and the brave make their own way through will alone. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

As a breed the Havana Brown is very limited in it's diversity, as only a certain look is accepted. Compared to other cats, however, Mariposa is very unique. She is long of limb and sleek in every way, with a very pointed face and a thin tail. She's small now only because she''s still growing. Her eyes are somewhere around sage green, an interesting contrast against her sleek, chocolate fur, and they seem too large for her face. Her ears are big as well. Looking at such a cat evokes memories of ancient Egypt and the cat goddess, Bast.
Despite this regal appearance Mariposa has a softness to her, a very friendly look about her face and movements. Her fur, as previously stated is the rich color of milk chocolate, a color not common in cats outside of her breed. She is a show cat, a pedigree purposefully designed by humans to look just the way she does. The way she holds herself shows well. Her owners keep her very clean, and she isn't allowed outdoors and because of this, has no collar. Her masters don't want her messing up the fur underneath and they hate the ringing sound of bells.

Mari looks like an Egyptian goddess and that is exactly how she expects to be treated. She has been worshiped since her birth, groomed and pet and played with constantly. She's the most spoiled kind of kitten and couldn't be happier with her life. Still too young to be shown yet, her masters still take her along with them when they show her mother and she loves all the new cats she meets, and cat lovers to cuddle her and shower her in adoration. Mari loves her home and her masters but being shut up inside all of the time is frustrating and cramped. As of yet, her attempts to get out the door and into the yard to play have all been spoiled. Never having known dirt or mud or the feeling of anything but carpet and wood floors beneath her paws before, her escape into the outside world is going to be a very surprising and eventful one for sure.

As for her relations with other cats, Mari's never heard of or met a wild one. All of the cats she's come in contact with have been just as spoiled and pedigree as herself. She has an expectation that all cats are the same.

There isn't all that much to be said about Mari's background, as she's still very young and the life of a kittypet like her is an easy and uneventful one. Her house is large, clean and new, It's fence-less backyard crossing into Riverclan territory on one side. Of course she doesn't know this yet.

Her mother and father are both showcats, and pedigree. She still lives with her mother, but she's never met her father and doesn't know anything about him except his name. Her sisters and brothers were still nameless when they were sold. Her masters, two males that seem to be mates, care for her and her mother very well. They've always eaten the best foods off of fine china and received cuddles and brushing and playtime every day. Mari loves her mother more than anything and hardly ever leaves her side. She'll never have to, after all; her masters are planning on keeping her for the rest of her life.

Of all her favorite things to do, cat shows are the best. She loves how much attention she and her mother get, and all the new smells and sights involved in being in a convention center filled with cats from everywhere. Her mother has dozens of ribbons that hang in master's office, and sometimes she likes to bat them around and play with them. They're very colorful, and she loves the red ones the most. A few have gotten lost or damaged, and because of that she is no longer allowed in the office. Ribbons, her mother scolded, are not toys. They are a mark of honor that must be respected. really the little kit could care less, she has new shiny toys to play with anyway. The glowing red bug is her favorite- but it disappears way too fast.[/ul]
