Right after this poor tom was born, his parents remarked that he looked a little...awkward. First impressions don't always hold, but this one did. At six moons old, this apprentice is just as awkward as when he arrived in this world. He has long, skinny legs, after which he got his name. Big paws are usually reserved for toms with big muscles and lots of growth potential, but this tom was cursed with them. They don't fit onto this poor tom's body, and he constantly trips over them, making him a clumsy hunter and a poor fighter. Even though he seems to have a bit of mass on his body, the tom is all fur. Heronpaw's frame is rather pathetic, he has no muscle, and is built rather petite. It is a body that a she-cat would die to have, and he'd kill to have any other body. Such a pity. This tom's tail is rather short, and doesn't give him much balance at all. To top off this tom's amazing looks, is a cute little button nose, and large, oversized ears. If there was any doubt about Starclan abandoning the clans, you could confirm it just by looking at this poor apprentice. Oh well, not every cat could be built like a stud.
To hide his not so built frame, at least this tom has decently long fur. Heronpaw has his mother's fur, beautiful dark grey patches, with striking white to cover the rest of his body. Faint tabby stripes run though the grey, and his tail is all grey, ringed all of the way out to the tip. Heronpaw's muzzle is all white, extending up his nose and a bit into his forehead, hiding the distinctive tabby M. This Thunderclan apprentice is always having to try and groom out his fur; it's lengths make it next to impossible to keep clean, and little bits of the forest gets stuck in it often. If Heronpaw doesn't clean out his fur, he knows his parents will, and he will not be the apprentice that still gets bathed daily by his parents. At least in the harsh leaf-bare that is expected, the tom-cat knows he will stay warm. There is always a plus side to every situation!
There is one thing that Heronpaw likes about his own appearance, and it is his eyes. He hasn't seen them himself, because no tom goes and looks at themselves in puddles out of fear of getting judged. His mother has told Heronpaw that his eyes are identical to his fathers. Big, round eyes, always curious to the world around him. Their colour was a striking amber, a deep dark amber. Almost like a burning fire. Growing up, Heronpaw had never seen a cold look in his father's eyes, even when he was scolding the young kit. They were always so warm and welcoming. In Heronpaw's mind, if his eyes were as half as nice and welcoming as his father's, then he would be happy with them. These amber eyes are so warm, that they are probably not capable of looking cold in any form. Eyes to match a truly warm-hearted apprentice.
» personality:
Heronpaw grew up in an extremely sheltered life, and it is evident from the moment this little tom opens his mouth. Always soft-spoken, this tom talks very slowly and cautiously, as if he thinks every word over before daring to say it. Which he does. His parents taught him to only say things if they are necessary, kind, and true (despite the fact he misheard it, and it's only supposed to be if it's one of those three things, it doesn't have to be all of them at the same time. Oops!). Because of his slow talking, cats can get impatient with him sometimes. Some cats even believe the poor tom is mentally slow. Is he? Not at all. However, the young tom is very awkward with his mannerism, so cats usually won't stick around long enough to see he isn't mouse-brained.
