Toadkit, Neutral Shadowclan

Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where four Clans reside in constant competition, where loners and rogues struggle on the sidelines, where the strong are outmaneuvered by the weak and the brave make their own way through will alone. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

With fur sticking up in all sorts of awkward directions, no matter the amount of grooming he receives, Toadkit definitely looks like a ratty sort of thing most of the time. His pelt is notorious for getting everything tangled into it and it's an almost daily occurrence for him to trot to his mother to get de-tangled. In addition to his uncooperative fur. Toadkit also sports a rather long tail that likes to get caught on things and paws that have grown a touch faster than the rest of him. Shuffling from place to place, Toadkit looks rather awkward on his feet and looks like he could trip at any given moment. The terrible fact is, he does. The awkward growth stage he is in has definitely got the better of him and impedes his life and adventures regularly.

However, there is a sureness in how he holds himself. The squareness of his shoulders suggest that they will soon grow, and there is sure to be large claws to accompany his bulky paws. His long tail too that seems to pinwheel behind him when he stumbles now, suggests that he will be excellent at keeping his balance in the future. His face is also the least awkward thing about him at his current stage, and if his face stays much the same and loses the baby fat, he wouldn't be a terribly bad looking cat either.

If you could picture the embodiment of all the troublemaking that kits do, that would be Toadkit. He's loud, adventurous, curious, and thinks of all rules as more of "guidelines" than anything else. As the first of his litter to walk, he is always extremely active and hardly ever misses a chance to poke his nose into places it might not really belong in. Probably as a consequence of heritage, Toadkit is also brutally blunt on the things he observes, and he sees a LOT of things. Surprisingly, he can also be very silver tongued if its for his benefit; he's also very good at being able to pass off blame onto his other siblings (most notably his sister Snakekit).
