Newtkit, Shadowclan Kit | Eternity's End

Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where four Clans reside in constant competition, where loners and rogues struggle on the sidelines, where the strong are outmaneuvered by the weak and the brave make their own way through will alone. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

Newkit is a little multi-colored fluff ball who looks very similar to her mama, Kestrelflower. All four of her petite and precious paws are bathed in a creamy white color, while her butt, back, head, eyes, shoulders, haunches and tail are painted with a mottled combination of blacks, oranges, and browns, giving her a spectacular calico/tortoiseshell color. Her nose is an eternal rosy pink and her green-yellow eyes are forever searching for new things to discover and other creatures to meet and greet. She has a perfect orange diamond marking on her forehead, squished between two big black patches covering each half of her face. Her paw pads are pink with some black spots on her "palms".

She is built like every young bumbling kitten for now, but she shares the genetics of her mother, and will one day grow to be a slender and small she-cat that any tom would adore to call his own. She also has the makings of the same soft but course and thick fur that her mother possesses. Newkit doesn't exactly look like a natural born ferocious Shadowclan cat, but she has got impressive strengths of her own residing within this little body.

Newkit's personality is a simple one. She has the innocence of a kitten, with very little knowledge of the dangers and troubles of the outside world. She is naive and trusting, which is understandable since she's only met the cats within her family and clan. Being gullible and easily manipulated, she believes what she hears, regardless of the prejudices and biases from which the information may come from. She doesn't aspire to much, and has very little interest in becoming a glorified warrior and supporting a clan one day. She is in her comfort zone, happily playing in the nursery with her siblings and making the long journey to the Elders' den to talk and hear stories about the past.

Although most of her clan worries about her future, when life isn't all peaches and cream, she assures them that nothing in the world could ever go wrong, and everything will be alright in the end. Such a little optimist. Newkit is a natural born peacemaker and do-gooder, and is a favorite visitor in the Elders' den. the little she-cat makes friends with all who meet her, and she always shows respect to the adults in the clan. One can't help but smile as the sweet little thing trots on by, glowing with happiness and innocence everywhere she goes.
