Welcome, visitor. Welcome to a forest where StarClan does not speak, and no cat knows the reason for their silence. In a forest where nothing is certain, the only constant is the will of individuals to survive because every breath could be their last.

When the ancestors they vaunted went silent, there was confusion at first. Then there was panic and fear, unrest and blame. Moons passed without a word from the Clans' starry ancestors, and tensions rose until at last a bloodbath at Fourtrees put an end to the Gathering tradition. Thus began a period of silence between all the Clans of the forest—one which continues to stretch on with no end in sight.

Now StarClan has been silent for a full year, and chaos still reigns. ThunderClan and RiverClan are on the verge of war, and conflict within ShadowClan has split the Clan into two factions—the believers and the rebels. No cat hears from WindClan any more, as they keep to themselves and their so-called prophet, worshipping her in lieu of the ancestors who no-longer offer their guidance. As falling leaves herald the leaf-bare that is on its way, no cat knows what the coming moons will hold for the forest's four Clans.

[/b] At a glance, Snakekit is your average kit. She has a naturally slender build, which one day may look very elegant. That combined with her slightly triangular head and rather long tail will give her a truly 'snake-like' appearance. But, for now, she simply looks like a small kitten with a tail that's too big for her. Her pelt seems to be the only part of her that doesn't look at least somewhat awkward at present. Snakekit's fur is an interesting mix of browns, creams, blacks, whites, and even reds. Like her mother, she's a torbie. But there are distinct differences. Snakekit's pelt is distinctly more 'tabby-like'. Her base fur is a soft brown color, with richer browns splashed across it. Her markings are a mix of black and dark brown, and cover her entire body. Her fluffy tail had some of the darkest coloration, with black stripes running all along it. The fur on Snakekit's face shows the most variation. Her black markings extend down to just above her kit-blue eyes. Her muzzle and cheeks are dappled with faint hints of ginger, and her chin is is white. This white coloring extends down the underside of her neck, over her chest, and down to her belly.

» personality: Snakekit has what one might call 'middle child syndrome'. From birth she's been competing with her brothers and sister for her mother Kestrelflower's attention. She is not the biggest or the boldest kit, nor is she the smallest and the sickliest. And while she's still very young, Snakekit craves attention. She wants everyone to notice her all the time, and be the constant center of attention. With three other kits also vying for Kestrelflower's attention, Snakekit often ends up making trouble in an attempt to be noticed. She'll become aggressive with her brothers and sister on occasion, batting at them or nipping them until her mother comes to break up the scuffle. Other times she'll tear up their nest, or even go pester the warriors. When in trouble she's very petulant and pouty, often denying any wrong-doing. There are times, however, when she behaves. Snakekit is more than capable of playing nice with her siblings, and does so quite often. She enjoys playing and watching the warriors, though she's still too young to truly understand much of what they do.

» background: Snakekit was born to Kestrelflower, a rather experienced queen. Her birth went smoothly, as did the first moon of her life. Even as a newborn she demanded her mother's constant attention. Snakekit cried whenever Kestrelflower left, no matter for how short a time. When she returned, she would quiet down almost immediately. But as Snakekit grew larger, so did her need to be noticed. Snakekit was the first of the litter to open her eyes, and the second to begin walking. She began to follow Kestrelflower everywhere, trailing after her the way a duckling follows its mother.

At two moons, a something strange occurred. Snakekit was taken away from the marshes she'd been born in, and taken to a new rocky place. This sudden change distressed and confused her. This manifested itself in an increased desire to be near her mother and siblings, who were the most familiar things in this strange place. Snakekit soon became more aggressive, often taking out her fear and confusion on her brothers and sister. As another moon passed, she grew used to this new place. She still, however, craves her mother's constant attention and approval. Her mother, undoubtedly, is expecting her to grow out of this clingy stage very soon.[/ul]
