On a quiet night or a dark day, one wouldn’t be sure she was there. People usually see her sister, Flamefang, the big one, the expressive one. Not many mind the coal smudged face at the firebrand’s shoulder. This Frost-talon is perfectly happy with, and just as satisfied to see her sister’s smile. The two were inseparable for a while after the last gathering. The whole event changed them, for better or for worse, they aren’t sure. Frost-talon thinks of the negative effect, though. Our frosty fiend is completely satisfied to fill in where the kindling left. For while Flamefang is stoic with grand emotion, Frost-talon is gentle for quiet concern. While Flamefang is bursting with enthusiasm to show her worth, Frost-talon is satisfied with being a simple observer and know her silent place. For her power comes in the containment, the restrain of emotion, the cool while there is a blue fire behind those two solid eyes. Those eyes bear the emotion she had to lock for stability. This she-cat is surer to hide a small secret then to bubble out every detail. She’ll look but she won’t touch. The ice fiend refuses to leap before thinking.
» background: Twistedleap was an odd quirky tom, while Fawnsplash was a jovial and caring she-cat. The two fit rather well, matching each other with odd jokes and weird humor. The two were good warriors, considering Twistedleap was once a medicine cat apprentice and Fawnsplash did a great deal of her power to try avoid a fight. The two made great looking kits though. A dark brown pointed tom and two tortoiseshell pointed she-cats. Dusk-kit with his father’s weird walk, Flamekit with her mother’s colorings and Frostkit with her mother’s care. The three made it into apprenticeship rather easily, given mentors who would help them use what they have to defend their clan.
Then everything changed when the battle at the gathering happened. That tom who’d crack jokes was silent. The she-cat who wanted to help out the queens more than the other warriors didn’t come back to the den. And finally, the tom who was barely a moon out of kit hood didn’t walk beside his father on any more patrols. Flamepaw fought, scratched and clawed to defend her brother is hopes he would last just one night at a time. That night Frostpaw lost that inch on her tail that would never grow back defending her sister from a sneak attack.
The two grew after that, Frostpaw stuck beside her sister, like an overprotective queen. No one blamed her though. Flamepaw was rather shook up after that, and Frostpaw only tried to keep her from hurting herself. So, they trained together, patrolled together. Yet slowly Frostpaw, becoming Frost-talon, knew she wasn’t becoming needed. Flamepaw, now Flamefang was growing and became more confident. She didn’t need her big sister anymore.
Frost-talon then gradually started to dissolve into the distance. She’d done her job. Now all she needed to do was to protect her clan like she protected Flamefang.
