Small and thin like most apprentices, Wasp-paw has more yet to grow. He was the largest of his litter of three. Even as a young cat Wasp-paw is lithe and thin. His pelt is a ruddy brown, darkening minimally along his back and forehead while lightening around his eyes,chin and belly. His tail is long and sleek, the tip tapering off into a dark brown. Wasp-paw's head is triangular leading into a tan nose and long white whiskers. His large pointed ears seem a bit large for his head but he will grow into them. In time he will grow to be a medium sized tom, lean muscles and sleek fur. He'll grow into long legs though his paws will stay relatively small. As for his eyes they sit large on his face and a fierce piercing yellow, which earned him his Wasp prefix.
Wasp-paw has two defined ways of movement. On the general he has a proud gait, sure footed and direct. He is clearly better than you and you should all know it stride. His mannerisms confident, even when he isn't and almost always cocky. And then there is the 'I'm doing something bad, best not to be caught' sneak/stalk. It's in high contrast to his normal stride he keeps his head low and doesn't make a fuss about where he's going. This however doesn't mean he doesn't get caught. He just thinks he won't and is always surprised when he is.

Wasp-paw has never been a nice cat. Even as a kit he would selfishly push around his brother and sister. The young tom has a jealous streak a mile wide and has a tendency to bully others. He's never really gotten on with his littermates or any of the other younger cats in the clan. This springs from his deep seated feeling of not being noticed by his parents. His belief that his sibling are more favored than him brought out a nastiness that never went away. He often goads his siblings, and other apprentices into dangerous stunts and feats of 'bravery'. However Wasp-paw has never been cruel, nothing he asks the other to do he would not do himself.
Wasp-paw in not without his merits. He is ambitious in his dream to become clan leader one day in the far off future. Though at this point in his life he is not at all worthy of the title. His trouble making used to hide his insecurities. He's quick to get angry and one to hold a grudge. Though for those he looks up to he does try to be on his best behaviour and it always leaves him a bit depressed when he isn't up to snuff. Wasp-paw is very proud and would never admit to anyone but himself that he has fault. Deep down he knows he's being childish and perhaps he may never grow out of his resentment but for now there is still time to learn and maybe even change.

Wasp-paw's history begins with a bit of a love story but also a bit of a tragedy. His mother, a beautiful she-cat by the name of Clovertail, lost her mate and father of her only remaining son Badgerclaw, to greencough. She was devastated having lost her other son Molewhisker to an infected battle wound, and now her mate. If it had not been for Redstorm the warrior would have likely sucome to depression and died of a broken heart.
The two were and unlikely pair but in love all the same. Redstorm having been rejected by a previous mate when their only kit died, was concerned when Clovertail became pregnant. But to the couple's relief all three kits were born healthy. And so began the adventures of Waspkit, Quailkit and Sandkit, named so for Redstorm's lost son.
However Redstorm's former mate also had a litter on the way and didn't seem to take to kindly to the name placed upon Waspkit's brother. She seemed to dislike the whole lot of them and scolded them often.
For Waspkit, Sandkit seemed to be his father's favorite. While Quailkit was spoiled by their mother for being her only daughter. This left Waspkit lonely and more than a little bit jealous leading him to acting out more. He purposely antagonized his sibling, often daring them to do stupid and sometimes dangerous things. Yet any act he convinced his siblings into doing he did himself. He was no scaredy cat that was for sure.
Though despite his reckless and sometimes mean tendencies Waspkit dreamed of becoming leader. It was a sure fire way to get recognition. Not only from his parents but from the rest of the clan as well, who no doubt thought him a nuisance. His apprentice ceremony was one of the few times that Waspkit was well behaved. [/ul]
