He's a silvery-grey tom, for the most part, with a thick, long, extremely soft pelt, leading to frequent hairballs. However, it has to be said that his fur is exceptionally soft and fluffy, unhelpful though this may be in the realms of fighting. It did, however, help him to win over Aspenfang, not that that was a particularly difficult job - although that's a story for another day. His underbelly, neck and chest, and both his front paws, are a very bright white, almost like a cloud, while the majority of his back legs are also white, and a black stripe goes down his back to the tip of his thickly-furred tail. His ears are large, as are his eyes, which are a dull, green-ish shade of amber.

Silverstorm is certainly an interesting cat, albeit not one that you would want to spend an extended period of time around, or at least not without being Aspenfang. Because, while he is certainly an amusing, or even entertaining, cat to be around for a short period of time, it is wholly undeniable that he is quite unpleasant for longer than about twenty minutes (once again: without being Aspenfang. And he is capable of being unpleasant even to him). He is certainly an intelligent cat, that is undeniable. He is a talented warrior, and he is also more than capable of being extremely charming, although he does tend to hide this behind a gruffness that he puts down to arthritis.
It is worth noting, however, that Silverstorm was anything but a pleasant mentor to poor Darkclaw - not that this did him much in the way of a dis-service, as Darkclaw would probably have turned out just as self-serving and unpleasant as he is now, with or without Silverstorm's somewhat... eclectic style of mentoring. He is a sharp old cat, certainly, and willing to do anything within the warrior code to get where he wants: but don't be fooled into thinking him a valuable ally. While he is certainly not as self-serving and unpleasant as his former charge, it is certainly indisputable that he would drop any cat (aside from Aspenfang) who he claimed as an "ally" at the drop of a hat.
» background: Silverstorm was born, to Stormpelt and Rockfur, two upstanding Warriors of ShadowClan, as the runt of a litter of four: Ashkit, Greykit, Mistkit and Silverkit. The four of them were indulged from an early age, even though they were born in Leafbare, which quickly claimed Ashkit as a victim, killing him at the age of two moons. Silverkit, however, somehow managed to remain strong and healthy, despite his runtish nature, and managed to become an apprentice, albeit slightly delayed by an attack of whitecough, close to when he was due to become an Apprentice. Thus, at the age of seven moons, a full moon after setting foot in the Medicine Cat's Den for the first time (and with his brother and sister a full moon ahead of him in training - ugh), he was finally re-named Silverpaw, and given as an apprentice to a firm, if pleasant, she-cat called Fernfur.
Fernfur instantly set about getting her charge back up to speed and caught up with his two larger siblings, and he proved to be a pleasingly capable apprentice, even for his late start. While he did struggle somewhat with his balance for hunting, his apprenticeship passing without much comment to make, up until his ninth moon. Up until then, he had been friends only with his two siblings, mentor and parents (in as much as he could be friends with his parents): however, at this point, a new tom became an apprentice. His name was Aspenpaw, and he was a little spitfire, in all honesty. He and Silverpaw quickly formed a rivalry, constantly scrapping and fighting, but it was clear that they were, despite this, quite close friends.
Indeed, rumours were already flying around about the two of them by the time Silverpaw graduated to become a warrior, and with a new name: Silverstorm. However, neither one paid a great amount of attention, instead remaining close friends, and doing what they could to be placed on patrols together. It was obvious, right from when Aspenpaw became a warrior, his name becoming Aspenfang, that there was a romance blossoming between the two toms. However, needs must, and despite their newfound romance, chores needed doing, patrols needed to be organised and hunting was required. So, Aspenfang and Silverstorm went, temporarily, at least, their own ways, or at least until both were old enough to hold down the relationship as well as doing their various warrior duties.
By the time they got back together, however, Aspenfang and Silverstorm had very obviously changed dramatically: Aspenfang was an angry spitfire (as well as being exceptionally tiny - Silverstorm had always found it funny), whilst Silverstorm was a focussed warrior, and one with an apprentice - finally. He was given a young, lanky tom by the name of Darkpaw to mentor, and although this did make having a relationship at the same time difficult, he and Aspenfang still managed to hold things together, even with Darkpaw's constant interruptions. At this point, during Leaf-Fall, Stormpelt and Rockfur both succumbed to old age, having since moved into the elders' den.
Silverstorm, however, had other problems on his paws: namely, Darkpaw. While Darkpaw was, no doubt, a motivated young apprentice, he was nothing if not self-serving, and worryingly so. Silverstorm never voiced his concerns to anybody but Aspenfang, and simply stepped up his training in preparation for Darkpaw's becoming a warrior, which he did, most successfully. Now called Darkclaw, he took Addertooth as a mate, although Silverstorm's prediction was that it wouldn't last long. (For reference, he was correct. It lasted about three moons, and then they split up.)
After this, however, StarClan stopped talking to the Clans. ShadowClan split, and despite their former animosity, Addertooth and Darkclaw got back together and went to the opposing side of the Clan, deciding that StarClan no longer existed. Silverstorm and Aspenfang, on the other hand, stayed.
