the day was cool.
not freezing, but pleasantly cool, with a breeze that seemed to tug at a cat's fur. the scent of leafbare, however, was subtle, and one could easily tell that the cold would be upon them soon. however, no matter the cool breeze, the sunning rocks were still ever warm, and this is where laurelstorm found herself for the day.
laurelstorm wasn't being lazy, per say, - especially considering she had actually come out to hunt a bit of prey to bring back to camp. - but passing by the sunning rocks in attempt to find some food had proven to be quite useless. the she cat couldn't help but stop to warm her fur and relax a touch on the smooth stones.
taking that moment to wash her fur, she considered which route she would take back to camp once she hunted down some prey. maybe past the owl tree? she hummed softly to herself at the prospect, before pausing to lift her head and listen to the world around her. careful and alert she always was, one could never be too careful, even in their own territory. she adjusted her tail about her paws, and listened to the light lap of the nearby river.
it was peaceful here.
something that was hard won in an antsy cat like her. movement was vital to her, kept her blood flowing, her ears turning, her eyes watching, but taking a moment to sit and breath, to listen to the sound of a passing bird's call, to the splash of a frog jumping into the clear water, it almost made a cat want to lay down and take a nap.
however, considering she was on hunting duty, it wouldn't be the best idea, warm rocks be damned.
laurelstorm took one last moment to swipe a paw over her whiskers, and then stood, beginning to look about the area for the supposed 'pletiful prey'.
maybe she'd have better luck in the forest?
